Mixed Media artist Susan Cassie is back by popular demand to show you how to make her very unique artists books.  A lifelong lover of books: Recycle, reuse and reinvent.  These are the 3 R’s in Susan’s work.  Join us to learn how to make a variety of different styles of books using unusual and recycled materials including leather, old book covers, wallpaper, floor boards and other assorted stuff.  All equipment and materials are supplied.  For all levels of ability including beginners.

Please also bring any personal material such as photos, drawings, paintings, memorabilia, recycled or handmade papers/fabrics you would like to incorporate into your work.

An Introduction to Watercolour Painting with Jenny Hunter

Sunday Watercolour Painting Group
We meet once a month on a Sunday afternoon to work with Watercolour, Waterbased media and Mixed Media.  Individual Tuition and Refreshments provided.

An Introduction to Monoprint with Tracey Johnston

Tuesday 16th April, 10.30 to 12.30pm.  £35
Monoprint is a spontaneous technique giving the freedom to work with a wide selection
of materials form water and oil based inks and paints to water soluble crayons, pencils and pastels.
In this practical workshop you will learn how to make a Monotype or Painterly Print.
Suitable for all levels, all materials and refreshments supplied.

Life Drawing  with Graeme Swanson


Our popular life Drawing Class continues from 17th April to 22nd May.

£15 per Session and Discounted to £75 for Block booking.
We focus on the paractice of observational drawing, directly from the life model,
guided by expert tuition tailored to your needs.  The class provided artists of all levels
and abilities a regular time and space to concentrate on drawing the human form.
We cover a variety of techniques and drawing approaches while encouraging you to
experiment with different drawing materials.

Bookings and payment must be made in advance as places are limited.

‘Poem Houses’ with Brigid Collins

Sunday 28th April,  10am -4pm.  £60

Design and make a small three-dimensional object to ‘house’ a
visual interpretation of your favourite poem.

During this Workshop Brigid will introduce you to the practice of combining text and imagery, by creating individual ‘Poem-Houses’ – sculptural structures, often on an intimate scale, which are a direct response to the written word.

We will be experimenting with collage, assemblage and mixed media to create our ‘Poem-Houses’.

Basic materials supplied, but please bring along a poem/text or piece of writing you’d like to work with.

Working with Colour with Jenny Burgess

Sunday afternoons, 1 – 4pm, 5th, 12th, 19th May. £165.

Join us for this 3 week short course in working with colour.
Suitable for any level and those who love colour.

Following on form our popular workshop in Colour Theory we will be exploring working with colour.  Join us in this practical short course where we will be experimenting with complimentary colours, ‘found’ colours, saturated colour, pastels and earth colours, using a variety of different mediums and collage.  You won’t see things the same again!
